Certificate IV in Disability Support

Our CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support reflects the role of workers in community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support to empower people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. This course promotes the person-centred approach, with workers operating autonomously and may have responsibility for supervising a small team. 

 

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, students may be able to:

  • identify safe work practices for client care

  • facilitate the rights, interests and empowerment of people with disabilities

  • provide person-centred services to people with disabilities with complex needs.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Successful completion of the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Aged Care Activity Worker

  • Care Service Team Leader

  • Care Supervisor

  • Disability Support Worker.

ASSESSMENT

We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • short answers

  • projects

  • activities

  • workplace observation or observation in a simulated workplace.

DURATION AND MODE

Duration:

This qualification can be completed in up to twelve months, dependent on the student's experience, Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Apply for CT or RPL during enrolment.

Delivery:

Training may be delivered in various forms, including face-to-face, online and work-based.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

Prior to enrolment, students must have successfully completed one of the following qualifications:

  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability and the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.

The following will be required for the enrolment process: 

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI) 

  • photo identification

  • completion of the LLN assessment

HOW DO I CREATE MY USI?

WORK PLACEMENT

This training program includes a minimum of 120 hours of work placement.

The following is required for Work Placement: 

  • National Police Check clearance certificate

  • NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)

  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • Current vaccination records may be required.

Additional requirements may be stipulated by the state public health orders or the workplace.

This nationally recognised qualification is delivered and assessed by Aurora Training & Professional Services Pty Ltd, RTO ID 90966, ABN 39 109 662 606. This training will deliver skills and knowledge to the industry standard but does not guarantee a job. FEES & CHARGES

FEE FOR SERVICE

This course is available on a fee-for-service basis: $8,000.

Aurora TPS does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student’s fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.

ADDITIONAL FEES

Deferment Fee (administration charges): $50

Replacement of Testamur/statement of attainment/Qualification Certificate: $50

Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit): $150
