About the qualification

Our FNS41422 Certificate IV in General Insurance qualification is designed to reflect the role of persons carrying out work in general insurance in a range of organisations. Individuals in these roles apply specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities relating to claims handling, determining risk exposure, dispute resolution, providing customer service and underwriting . They apply solutions to a defined range of general insurance problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of relevant sources.

Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, students should be able to: 

  • analyse insurance claims 

  • resolve disputes 

  • develop in-depth knowledge of products and services.

Outcome

Successful completion of the FNS41422 Certificate IV in General Insurance may lead to employment opportunities, including: 

  • Finance Sector Supervisor 

  • Insurance Broker 

  • Life Insurance Claims Assessor.

Duration

This qualification can be completed up to thirty-six months, dependent on the student's experience, Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Apply for CT or RPL during enrolment.

Delivery

This course may be delivered through face-to-face, online, or work-based training.

We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including: 

  • short answers

  • projects 

  • activities 

  • workplace observation

  • observation in a simulated workplace.

Student Requirements

The following will be required for the enrolment process:

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)

  • verifiable identification documents

  • completion of the LLN assessment.

Students will require access to appropriate technology and internet if the materials are delivered online.


We collaborate with employers to support students in the workplace. Workplace assessments may be required for some units of competency.

This nationally recognised qualification is delivered and assessed by Aurora Training & Professional Services Pty Ltd, RTO ID 90966, ABN 39 109 662 606. This training will deliver skills and knowledge to the industry standard but does not guarantee a job. We tailor training for people from diverse backgrounds, including those with a disability.

Fees

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, under the Smart and Skilled program. The following fees are incurred by the student depending on their eligibility. 


  • Traineeship*: $0 

  • Non-Subsidised (Full Fee): $6,000 

  • Concession: $240 

  • First Qualification: $1,980 

  • Second Qualification: $2,310 


*Fee exemptions may apply for eligible students and is conditional on Government Policy and Funding Arrangements. For more information, please visit www.smartandskilled.nsw.gov.au.  


ADDITIONAL FEES  

  • Extension/Suspension Fee (administration charges): $50  

  • Replacement of Testamur/statement of attainment/Qualification Certificate: $50  

  • Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit): $150  

  • RPL and RCC assessment: Contact us for a quote

Aurora Training & Professional Services does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student's fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.
